Feature: Quantum Savvy Horsemanship- Master horseman Shane Ransley  ‘Control doesn’t Mean Safety’

Master Horseman Shane Ransley is one of the founders of the international study programme Quantum Savvy that has been helping horse lovers worldwide to achieve beautiful partnerships with their horses for more than 20 years.

The Quantum Savvy programme teachers horse owners of all levels of experience, how to build safe, confident relationships with their horses through a better understanding and excellent communication skills.

During Shane's demos, he will share with you not only how to better understand your horse and what motivates him or her, but also how tap into their heart, mind and spirit to create the kind of partnership you dream of.  Control doesn't mean communication, entrapment doesn't mean safety, and coercion does not mean partnership.  Come along and see Shane in person and discover how you too, can achieve all you ever wanted to with your horse through building a better partnership.

The Shetland Pony

Shetlands are ridden by children and are shown by both children and adults at horse shows in harness driving classes as well as for pleasure driving outside of the show ring. Shetlands are ridden by small children at horse shows, in riding schools and for pleasure. They are seen working in commercial settings such as fairs or carnivals to provide short rides for visitors.

The Joy of Owning & Riding A Standardbred

Our horse and rider combination will be Cassandra Troon on her lovely gelding, Zinzan.

Dr Virginia Brosnan is an equine veterinarian and a current member of the committee of the Standardbred Pleasure and Performance Horse Association of Victoria (SPPHAV).   Her family has been involved in the owning, training and breeding of Standardbred race horses in New Zealand for four generations.  She grew up driving the pacers and trotters at home, and going to pony club.

Virginia has been a member of SPPHAV for several years, competing in the show ring with her own horses.  She adores the Standardbred breed, and would like to introduce more people to this fun, loyal and kind breed, and encourage them to get involved with Standardbreds.  They are a rewarding breed to be involved with and a pleasure to own, and it would be great to see more people giving them a chance off the track.

The Brumby - Australia's Unique Horse

The Victorian Brumby Association was formed in 2007 after several years of informal Brumby rescue. As an association, we have three primary goals, firstly of course, the rescue and rehoming of wild Brumbies. Secondly, working with local, state and federal government organisations such as Parks Victoria and National Parks and Wildlife Association in New South Wales, to develop humane, sustainable and effective management systems and thirdly, public education – showing the general public what Brumbies actually are, how well they’ve evolved to suit a wide variety of environments and also how those qualities that make them successful Wild Horses make them eminently suited to being domestic horses.

Finding a saddle that fits your horse takes some work. Even though saddle manufacturers make saddletrees in different sizes (wide, medium, and narrow), each horse is an individual and may not fit into a saddle that corresponds to the apparent width of the horse’s back.
